21 mei :: Loenen - de DauwTrapMarkt van Karoen

On 21 May we departed from Tuningen, below Stuttgart, Germany, at 6:15 to strike the AutoBahn. 2 Youngsters were dropped at Montaubur Railway Station and we passed the Dutch border before 11 o'clock doing about 600 kilometers. "The Dutch really happens right now!" and Karoen and Hannah received us at the entrance of a "dauwtrapmarkt" - a dutch cultural label that sounds as nature, early morning, bare foot and a gathering to offer alternative ways of living together. This all arranged by a boy of 17 who grasped the idea of Arun Gandhi driving close by that morning to pop up for an hour the exchange his legacy from Mahatma Gandhi, his bloodrelative via his Father. The picture shows the warmth of the TIPI where Arun lectures his legacy and answers questions from children and some parents.
In the meantime the driver, European Host Steve Engelking relaxes and has a dialogue with a dutch lady who crossed the world by having lived "Down Under", Australia and New Sealand.

surprise visit in an Ashram close by in Loenen near Apeldoorn ! (?)

The host at the Ashram showed us some particular grounds for having this Ashram which idea has its roots in India and Africa.
We had a drink there to physically reach the next station: Utrecht.

The Welcome-party for Arun was in a Peace Activist "Barack" were about 35 visitors listened to Aruns Story. We had a nice sphere and endeepened exercises digested various sentiments. A good dinner was offered and nurtured our tested bodies.here dutch stories from that gathering are told ...

We had reception in a HayLoft in Bunnik with Jan Gieszen, the basic host that facilitated a home for Arun and Steve (and me too). A very good area for a night rest.

22 mei :: Den Haag

Among International Organisations in The Hague

We were hosted by Menno Ettinga who told about the several organisations in one building. This event was a good initiation to some of them to work together in this "sudden" project. It resulted at the end in a cultural meeting with many youngsters / students.

A team of RTL Boulevard was scheduled to have an interview which was later broadcasted on the telly. They also put in some historic pictures of Mahatma entertaining and informing the people in the country.Then Arun and Cees were invited to visit the Ambassador who just entered this country for 2 weeks. It was a great excitement to sit on a couch and see Arun on the other side were his grandfather was in a great mirror : a great peinting just above my head ("what an honor! and a link to spiritual acts from a peoples archfather ...")
After the meeting with the Indian ambassador we entered a Hotel where the Fun X team interviewed Arun into local internet TV stations.

Transvaal in Julianachurch

In Transvaal the Surinam Indians reside as the greatest community for them in Europe. They are related to the Transvaal area in Africa too where Indian People were labouring mines etc. and peoples housekeepings.
The roof stroke my mind because it was similar to a logo i once designed with just square and circles. Here it also has lightflames in its design and it was enlightened by 9 windows at the South Sunny Side.
In the gathering with the people here historic facts were discussed by people. Here Arun used his voice (in deeply respected wisdom) to suggest the acceptance of what once happened and affirm oneself into the now, seeing for the better approach together.

Walk to the Mahatma Gandhi Monument

A co-major from the Hague with foreign backgrounds (as Obama in the States) guided Arun to the Monument Playa.
Arun is impressed by the profound memory inside the credo of Mahatma - a man who enlived his mission in an era that also could yet pass this acts into the worlds headlines. Can give a thought to quite some "positions nowadays", i suppose (ref. European Elections in the Netherlands right now expressed in figures at 5 may 2009 into the rest of Europe that follows in the timeline scheduled).
Our event organiser Gerdien Kapma represents the wind with her curly hair in the blasting wind on a sunny day. She worked hard to get 3 events in the tours tight schedule, all closing by Martiens attuning skills. She got the Transvaal people in the church and some of them joined in the walk ... tributing Mahatma's effort and achievements.
The ambassador surprised us by joining the celebration where grandson Arun met his Grandfater in the Governmental City of the Netherlands.
At a moment listening to the sphere i myself could not resist the opportunity to speak to the Ambassador with all people gathered. I placed some balloons on the photo that sort of identifies some partakers and emphasizes a sphere - where i guess it is all about. (men and women fusing their talents at large!)
Of course Arun joined the speakers and got all attention.
In those gatherings young ones join to announce ongoing actions into the peace that glores at the horizon (!). A peacewalk is announced that may be joined by many inspired ones through all generations that form the -global affected- community.
Also the ambassador had a sort of public maiden speech addressing his mission in international affairs.

The walk was ongoing to a next gathering ... I had i walktalk with an international manager in peacemaking affairs. She, Marloes, mentioned 6 tenets of Martin Luther King where one of them was focus for a personal investigation for her puzzling research. I invited her to an endeepening talk on that in order to attune some energetic aspects that enrol complex situations - that also can be outrolled.

Nutshuis, Den Haag

Some international hosts were here that spoke on the issue at stage. Arun gave antoher lecture and each time i was again listening to similar stories expressed from such a great warm civilized person.A surprising stage was entertaining the people in a setting that was fitting in this very day. I was told the script for the play was created in about a week before this date. It must have been an inside knowledged man/crew in the achievements of "the Gandhis".
We see how a Mahatma-lookalike has a wooden stick that bounced some times in order to insert wise words into the peoples bodyminds. The people seem to strive for being in power.
The oldies of the crew got out of energy and were longing for a good night. Menno offered his house as a good place for a night. In the morning a photographer, Daan, joined us for the saturday ride and escorting us with some information on the area of the procvinces South Holland (oil and chemical industrial area Pernis) and Sealand (dikes and tunnels).

Here i entered a point at the coast where i had to phone my partner, Janneke. At the same time it seemed an iron pillar came together with a modern mill in the sea. "What a benchmark" i thought, i have to share this with my buddies in the Waternet Foundation in Amsterdam.

StrandHuis 25 gave space for a leisure break that also was a short interval to talk with some local, including professional, people.

Cadzand and the PeaceFlame initiative

In stead of passing on to Antwerpen (which was cancelled due to lack of visitors in this weekend with Ascension Day) Gerdien surprised us with a gathering around the PeaceFlame. This monument is attuned with similar initiatives from local people all around the world, the globe, our beloved planet.The peaceflame monument is a gathering place for peole who are inspired to work together into the better attuned world where altruïsm prefers before (dominates) competition. Belgium hides Dutch Entrepreneur
A Dutch entrepreneur who designed a city all running on solar energy and earth warmth invited us to illustrate new technology and ways to achieve peace and ignitement for individual talents to share among the people. He mainly re-instals the tree as a basic material for Banking (!) . Crisis what crisis :: get the idea on what wood represents: well ... just match this to the PeaceFlame monument and its story of Air, Earth, Water and Fire ... . I even got inspired to mesh this knowledge in a new dispensation for the week ... the kweek (a week of 9 days) which gives a better amplitude for the whole of working and learning and relating to one another getting involved in various aspects of the whole life (!) and family affair as a fundament for practising speak, articulation and dialectics.
The natural form within the chairs at Frans' Place were very energetic to my physical form. And it even energized me to do the dishes that night at 3 , not a particularly social act that comforted Aruns nightrest (well, why was his door open?) Later on we could agree it was all part of this game of entertaining new aspects in life. We had great fun and smiles to that odd situation.
The morning breakfast with Frans and Jacques filled our nurturing desires and fruit was given for the way to Amsterdam via Bunnik, the Hayloft at Jans Place. Here a nice poem of Gerrit Vennema was recited, as a thanksgiving for this great European act of Arun and Steve at his side.

In Amsterdam a youth panel interviewed Arun for a take by the YouthJournal, which is part of the regular day on National TV. (I didnot see it yet, althought it may be clipped).

Several interviews were happening as here by Koorddanser, Ewald Wagenaar.

Saskia Beugel and the creative team of the Rishis took over with a tight arranged gathering in Westerliefde. About 40 visitors were lectured by Arun and seemed quite amused and interested in his visions as teachings. Ode magazine was informed on the map that further guided Tijn Touner for more endeepening interview which is said to be launched in the september/october edition. Ode magazine -a Dutch enterprise from Jurrian Kamp and associates (formerly Eckart Wintzen, who passed on March 21, 2008 in France)- is also working in San Fransisco where the English edition is marchandised.

Enduring the bilateral contacts were initiated and cards were handed over in order to proceed the mission in several active networks.
Steve, Aruns Guard, was not amused not knowing where Tijn took Arun for an interview ... i helped him a little bit to facilitate his hunt. When he gave up, Arun popped up out of the bushes with Tijn and a lady. We finished off the journey and Steve went with Arun to a Hotel to put him on the Plane at Schiphol Airport next morning.

Deze aflevering van een integraal verslag is een compilatie waar foto's het verslag begeleiden. Ik, Cees - de in-formele Benelux Ambassadeur - , heb besloten het verslag in de Engelse Taal te schrijven om tegelijkertijd een aandenken te schenken aan de gastheer zelf, de heer Arun Gandhi, geboren Afrikaan en inwoner van de Vereneigde Staten van Amerika. Per definitie is Arun een wereldburger vanwege zijn afstemmeling van zijn grootvader van de mannelijke lijn vanaf zijn vader. En die "opa" is de "aartsvader" Mahatma Gandhi.

Mahatma Gandhi is tevens de legaat voor vele Indiase mensen die hun familienaam veranderden in Gandhi. En ik memoreer hier het hoofd van de City Montessori School te Lucknow, India, de heer Jagdish Gandhi. Deze heer besloot na de moord op Mahatma in 1948 zijn familienaam op te geven en te verruilen voor die van Gandhi - uit eerbetoon en tevens als diepe begeleiding voor zijn taak voor de rest van zijn leven: het verspreiden van het inzicht van Mahatma voor de mensheid: Sayagraha. Dit heeft geresulteert in zijn bijdrage aan de wereld, die hij samen met zijn vrouw opbouwde: de City Montessori School en al haar symposia. Ik verwijs voor de details verder naar een verslag in Ode Magazine, zijn website en die van de school zelf. Ik meld hierbij dat ik deze verwijzingen niet zie als "persoonsverheerlijkingen" edoch als referenties aan het werk en de betekenis van dit werk dat Jagdish en Dharmesh Gandhi neer hebben gezet in de wereld.

In de trend van het verschijnsel dat mensen steeds meer hun eigen verhalen vertellen en schrijven, doe ik zelf ook mee. Dit heb ik zelf ook mogen oefenen in mijn werkkring de stichting Waternet te Amsterdam dat werkt aan het water en aan de wereld, inclusief de wereldvrede en al haar implicaties qua onderzoeks- en ontwikkelingskennis. Kennis die wij van harte schenken aan en leven in de wereld en haar bewoners. Dit gezegd hebbend meld ik hier ten slotte dat ik in 2006 min of meer per toeval de school bezocht op het combi symposium van Global Justice (7e editie) en de Global Democracy (3e editie). Dit heeft tot gevolg gehad dat ik 2 maanden later werd uitgenodigd om Adviseur te worden van de WUPED, de wereld eenheid en vredeseducatie afdeling van die school. De "D" van Department vervang ik zelf wel door "Democratie" vanwege mijn persoonlijke missie op aarde om het instrument van de Democratie te transformeren tot een andere en meer op individuën toegesneden middel. Zie hiervoor mijn Engelstalige site die overigens een korte Nederlandse sectie in zich heeft.

Hierbij acht ik dit artikel voldoende ingebed en laat de foto's verder het verhaal samenstellen. Mijn vriend Martien van Steenbergen wist het geheel op kundige en bezielde wijze te verknopen op de toursite.

Op het laatst kom je dan uit bij de essentie van Mahatma Gandhi's leer die mooi beschreven staat in een Ode Artikel:

... Hoe wilde Gandhi zijn doel bereiken?

Gandhi wilde zijn doel bereiken met behulp van een aantal begrippen, principes. Eén van de belangrijkste principes van Gandhi was Samakhava. Dit principe is afkomstig uit de Bhagavad Gita, een belangrijk heilige boek uit het hindoeïsme. Samakhava betekent dat men zich niet in de war mag laten brengen door pijn en vreugde. Men moet werken aan rechtvaardigheid, zonder angst voor mislukking en zonder hoop op succes. Niet alleen het doel is belangrijk, maar ook de manier waarop men dat doel probeert te bereiken. Een tweede belangrijk principe is Ahimsa. Ahisma is een Sanskriet (oude indiaanse taal die nu niet meer gesproken wordt) woord dat letterlijk betekent: ieder verlangen om te doden missen. Ahimsa staat voor de geweldloosheid ten opzichte van alle levende wezens. Ahisma betekent ook dat je geen enkele vorm van leven mag kwetsen. Daarom was Gandhi ook vegetarisch. Gandhi ziet de Ahisma als een soort wet. Het woord ahisma is de basis van Satyagraha. Gandhi vond het woord Satyagraha uit in Zuid Afrika, in 1908. Het begrip is opgebouwd uit de woorden satya (=waarheid) en agraha (=standvastigheid). Gandhi beschouwde waarheid als een uitdrukking van liefde en hij beschouwde standvastigheid als een uitdrukking van kracht. De letterlijke betekenis van het woord is dan ook: “kracht van de waarheid en de liefde”. Satyagraha is het herstellen van de waarheid, niet door de tegenstander pijn te doen, maar door zelf pijn te verdragen. Dit vraagt veel zelfbeheersing, want een Satyagrahi (=iemand die de Satyagraha beoefent), mocht zich niet wreken voor beledigingen, slagen of arrestaties. Gandhi stelde dan ook strenge voorschriften op voor de Satagrahi, die zij moesten naleven. Volgens Gandhi kan iedereen de Satyagraha naleven. De kracht Satyagraha is niet beschikbaar voor enkele uitverkorenen, maar beschikbaar voor iedereen: Citaat Gandhi: “[Satyagraha] is een kracht die zowel door het individu als door de gemeenschap kan worden gebruikt. Zij kan zowel op politieke als op huiselijke aangelegenheden worden toegepast. Deze universele toepasbaarheid is een bewijs van haar bestendigheid en onoverwinnelijkheid. Mannen, vrouwen en kinderen, allen kunnen haar even goed aanwenden. ...

7 dodelijke zondes

in mijn avontuur met mijn collega dhr. Roelof Kruize wordt een brief van hem (algemeen directeur van de publieke stichting Waternet) het werkwoord "zondigen" gebruikt voor waar de kwaliteitskrant NRC / Handelsblad het publiek vertegenwoordigt in een controletaak op overheidspraktijken (lente 2003, als ik het mij goed her-inner).

volgens de heer Winsemius - laatst met Wijffels gekozen door een LLink / AD enquete tot voortrekker van de nieuwe "geest" - zijn dit soort praktijken vandaag de dag te begrijpen als moedige uitingen en daden van burgers om kwalijke praktijken aan de orde te stellen en moeten we niet te benauwd zijn (="klein beetje kwajongensachtig mag wel") praktijken die gebeuren aan de kaak te stellen.

ergo: "je kwetsbaar en lerend opstellen" bij alles wat je doet en waar je een ijkpunt op wat je doet toelaat" is thans ook het devies dat de lerende overheid (zich slim en effectief profilerende) omarmt. en dus geldt dat je zowel competitief als sportief (denk aan de Kroonprins en Maxima) in het veld staat met je collega's / medeburgers.

Nu nog eens kijken naar de 7 dodelijke zondes die Mahatma Gandhi in het daglicht zette (alweer zo'n 70 jaar geleden):

"tja, als Amsterdams Ambtenaar ben ik sedert maart 2004 voor de derde maal (abusievelijk) gevraagd 24 uur per etmaal thuis of in eigen verkozen ruimte te werken aan het water. er zijn er die menen dat ik geschorst ben of zelfs ontslagen ... edoch dit is niet mogelijk gezien de regels die wij respecteren - dus heb ik dit niet aangenomen evenals dhr. Vermeulen, een burger die zich leent aan de voorzittersrol bij de Raad van Beroep voor Ambtenaren. Ergo, als Ambtenaar die het werk uitstekend doet en er ook in "afwezigheid" grote resultaten mee boekt ... ervaar ik dat "waar men registreert dat ik niet werk" weelde (=wealth) ervaar met mijn medeburgers"

Pleasure without conscience
"Plezier is een motto dat zowel collega's van mij bij Waternet als relaties in de Arun Gandhi tour mij telkens toewensen ... en het is waar "alles wat mij gebeurt geeft mij plezier" ...
Wat de conscience betreft wend ik mij wel tot mijn grote vrind Jan die er een praktijk op nahoud om mij telkens met oude projecties te confronteren die hem zo bezighouden in zijn lering ... Het is veelal een kwestie van zich waken om zich te voegen aan het plezier van een ander; tja, wie weet doet hij dit met een intentie/bedoeling die hij met mij eens wil delen - en geldt dit voorbeeld makende ter lering ook voor andere mensen die straks zijn boekje gaan lezen (ja heus: Tzujan schrijft een boek - hetgeen ik zie als een bedoeling het aam anderen te slijten)"

kortweg: "voor je eigen plezier is het genoegzaam het verder niet te verantwoorden als je eiigen plezier (daar is geen wetenschap op te organiseren)"

Knowledge without character
I sense this one is about the two sides of a coin ... which is about the 2 or 4 or 8 or 16 cells that spring of the inseminated egg to build a form ... a human body and every cell already knows where it is heading for in service to the whole ...

let me here insert the 16 cells of the mayan sunny seal side as archetypical:

and now in human essence terms ? (see below this article after some guessing?)

Here the good meaning of the one doing business is fundament of the bargain ...

They didnt want to; twas all they had got.
Selling atonal apples, amplified heat,

It is all in the song of Cream: Pressed Rat and Warthog ... a few lines:

Science without humanity

might be similar to first realizing what human is and then develop some scientific vibrations that facilitate the thoughts and trading rehearsals as enrichening relations and lots of entangled families

Worship without sacrifice

The idea of sacrifice might pop up at some moments in a stream of outcomes that seem to be centered around "U" ... But than this is also a result from your ideas and doings that pop up in other ones sources as of interest ...

So be aware of the virtual things that do not really matter ...

Get some lines on the common strings of interest and mediate them ...

Politics without principle
Politics is on a mesh of interests that are gross entangled in principal boxes ... the art of politics is to walktalk out of those boxes in crystal clear outcomes that revelate all "parties" as partakers.

I MATCH THEM SPONTANEOUS TO GIVE IT A FRICTION ! AS HERE:

WELL, of course the german language may provoke the Enlish only ones here ... to whom i offer the challenge to overcome that handicap just as non-english ones all the time have to adept to the "domaninant" side ... Try to trust the german sound as deeply known in your bodyvessel ? Trust the Sound!

Op weg van België naar Amsterdam d.d. zondag 24 mei geniet Arun Gandhi koffie met gebak op n hooizolder ergens in centraal Nederland ...

n heuse Swamiji kwam langs op vrij gebaar van uitnodiging:

"Geachte heer Cees,

Vanochtend ben ik met Swami Kalikamba mee gekomen evenals haar andere staflid Constance.
Swami Kalikamba was nogal geschrokken van de 'ontvangst' (bijna een trapluik op haar hoofd, dankzij haar sterke lichamelijke constitutie wist zij het luik met haar gespierde armen op te vangen....)
Het is voor ons ongelooflijk hoe de ontvangst was, Swamiji werd niet eens persoonlijk voorgesteld aan dhr. Arun Gandhi, zoiets zou in India ondenkbaar zijn. Op onze vraag of er een stoel beschikbaar was voor Swamiji werd nauwelijks enige reactie gegeven.

Hoe zou Swamiji moeten zingen met alle apparatuur die we hadden mee genomen? We zijn maar weg gegaan.

U begrijpt dat ik een poging heb gedaan e.e.a. in een verlichtend perspectief te plaatsen ... en meneer "van Dalen wacht op antwoord" waar een 3e poging is geënt op het volgende besoek van Arun Gandhi ("3 maal scheeps ...")

Tevens kwam op Vrijdag 22 Mei te Den Haag een dichter langs die zijn Gedicht, een hymne aan Mahatma Gandhi prijsgaf en per envelop aanbood via mij aan Arun.

Ik heb daar het ter plekke voorgedragen na het nuttigen van de appeltaart van YaniQ, een vrijwilligster uit Zwolle.

inleidende ... ben ik betrokken geraakt bij de WUPED - organisatie ... een afdeling van de grootste ') school op de wereld te Lucknow, India: nl. in februari 2007 als een van hun 12 wereldlijk verspreidde adiviseurs.

De Doelgroep
van de organisatie zijn de mensen vanaf 5 tot 18 jaar die hun scholen bemensen voor waar het het te leren gedeelte betreft vanuit de "oude / traditionele opvatting". ( Met de notie dat oude en traditioneel niet dezelfde lading vertegenwoordigen. Oud kan bijv. slaan op de oude opvatting hoe de traditie voort te zetten in de huidige tijd. )

er worden vele evenementen georganiseerd op deze school in dit grote land ( zo'n 18 % van de wereldbevolking ).
en daar blijkt ook dat de leraar zich leert aan de leerling ...

Dear Friends, I write to ask for you cooperation in organising participants of the World Youth Leaders Summit (WYLS), which is to be held this year in India.

As you may already know, WYLS aims to bring about comprehensive regeneration of society, religion, and sciences by propagating holistic, goal oriented approaches in solving the current pressing issues that affect the global community. These involve political, spiritual, economic, environmental, and sociological concerns, as well as countless other areas that require our shared care and attention.
This summit is both supported and financed by the Shri Ramanuja Mission Trust, a charitable organisation situated in South India. Founded by Chaturvedi Swami, a religious leader of the Hindu denomination (Shri Vaishnavism in the South of India), the Mission has centres throughout the Indian subcontinent, with joint headquarters in Chennai and Hyderabad. (Attached to this mail you will find detailed information about Chaturvedi Swami, along with some of the Missions’ current and future projects). My name is Patrick Nickisch and I am entrusted by Chaturvedi Swami as the organiser and coordinator for the summit. I got the offer to organise this project at the Global Assembly of the UnitedReligions Initiative (URI), held in December 2008, which I attended as a part of young leaders program.

The present summit is not a URI project, though some of the URI members are involved in it. At the moment, I am serving within the URI as a member of the Executive Board in Europe (EEC), and participate in the think-tank like satellites with the Global Office of the URI in San Francisco. I am a HinduVaishnava theologian and a young priest in my faith and tradition, starting to teach and represent the Hindu faith on various occasions, as well as working in areas of consciousness research and human potential development. The participants of the WYLS should be dynamic, committed and qualified with scientific and social pursuit, with a strong foundation of heritage
and values. As a general rule they should be roughly between 20 and 35 years of age, with some rare exceptions perhaps. The plan of the summit is to work on surveys, which will then create the foundation for future cooperation and follow-up actions for the years to come. As the situation of our world is complex, this summit serves as a step towards world-wide cooperation to check the imbalances in the current human civilisation. This project work will be the basis for developing a long term plan where various NGO’s and other organisations, industries, associations and individuals will continue to work, along with the participants, depending on the level of cooperation and mutual agreements. Members of the summit can also become members of the registered World Youth Leaders council, where they can continue the work for years to come.

Depending on their survey topic and individual choice, participants can serve as a ‘global council’, with prospects to become increasingly able to develop global strategies and be catalysts for change, especially when backed up with so many already existing initiatives around the world. You can start to participate in the WYLS from May/June until November/December 2009.

Participants need to prepare and conceptualize their research topic before coming to India, where they can start working with a focused approach on their topic within the Indian context. (You can find more details about the
survey and topics of the summit in the attached file as well.) Each participant will need to choose one of the 33 topics to work on, either alone or within teams, depending on their preference and complexity of the topic.Here is just a short synopsis of the practical steps of the work and the list of the topics:
1. Conceptual study.
2. Global Study with exclusive report on a specific area, problem and solution tools.
3. Complete Indian survey.
4. To cull out trouble-shooters, status-enhancers and principles of Ethics and Management from Indian systems of knowledge and practice resources.

The participants will form a team that includes analysts, researchers, students, media, NGO and other people who are going to do the survey and research in the following areas:

Apart from your personal field work, you may use assistance and guidance from known, reliable and efficient sources, such as the Internet, previous statistical reports, excerpts from journals and books, available video and
photo clippings and interviews, etc.

There is a non-profit organization in the Presidio called Internet Archive founded by Brewster Khale They work with 80+world-class universities and libraries creating the world's largest digital open-source library. (www.rchive.org).
Meanwhile, for clarifications and modifications alongside your research, you can have our guidance and directions as well. For the duration of your field work in India, you will be able to meet various politicians, academics, charitable associations and a variety of professionals. These meetings will be organised during the time of your stay. There will also be a supportive network in India, which will both host participants and provide local people who will help in terms of travel and communications in India. The results of the surveys will be published. That’s why the end results need to be in a presentable format by the 15th of November 2009. There is some space until beginning of 2010 for the ‘final work’, but the presentable data needs to be delivered in November. If otherwise
unfeasible, there is no need for you to be physically present for the final presentation. Since the WYLS invites people for such a long time, we will adjust accordingly to accomodate each participant in the most practical way.
There will be assessment criteria in place in order to document the progress on the surveys and assure the alignment with other topics, given that they are often reciprocally connected. Supervision and help will be offered throughout the entire span of the work (in India, before the field work, and after the field work), which will be managed by me and a small coordinating team set into place to support the participants along their way. If you would like to participate in the project, please send me your up-to-date professional CV, the same as if you would apply for a professional job. This includes the contact information, basic Bio data, educational and work history. A photo is a general request, part of the standard application procedure. The applicants would need to inform us when they could come for the maximum amount of time. It is possible that some can come from June to September, others from September to November, some can come for the entire 6 months, and others not more than 2 months at the maximum. Many possibilities are open and will be welcomed for the WYLS on part of the organisers. However, every member has to be present on August 15th, the independence day of India, where we will held central unifying conference, with rare exceptions which have to be discussed in such cases on an individual

Ahimsa

Ahimsa is een religieus of spiritueel filosofisch concept van geweldloosheid en eerbied voor al het leven. Ahimsa is Sanskriet (अहिंसा ahiṁsā) voor het vermijden van himsa (letsel). Het wordt meestal geïnterpreteerd als het tonen van vrede en ontzag voor alle voelende wezens.

Ahimsa betekent volledige geweldloosheid. Het is een innerlijke houding waarin men leeft, die een zekere ontwikkeling vereist, zonder ook maar iets op enig niveau te forceren. De reden voor dergelijke houding van complete geweldloosheid is het besef dat :

* iedere inbreuk op de natuurlijke loop der dingen niet alleen deze natuurlijke loop tijdelijk verstoort,
* maar bovendien een ketting van compensatiereacties in de omgeving oproept waarin de verstoorde natuurlijke loop der dingen zich tracht te herstellen
* en dat tenslotte dit reactieproces zich terug op de plaats van oorsprong zal richten, vanwaar de verstoring is uitgegaan.

Iemand die geweldloos handelt, zal op die manier ook een geweldloze invloed op zijn omgeving hebben, en niet geweldloosheid in zijn omgeving aanmoedigen. Stuurt men dus geweld uit, dan komt geweld terug. Door mee te doen met geweld in de wereld, geven wij een negatief voorbeeld aan anderen om dit ook te doen.

In een filmpje hoorde ik van Arun hoe hij leerde van zijn grootvader om het geweld in eigen handelen en leven te leren zien, voelen. Hij vertelt over een boom van passief geweld (be-letselen kun je zeggen). Nadat hij leerde om het geweld dat hijzelf gebruikte te zien, kon hij zijn eigen verandering aanvangen.

Als ik hem zo hoor, begrijp ik ook hoe ikzelf passief geweld hanteer.

De boom bij de aardbron

Wat me aanzette tot deze bijdrage is het gesprek over risico en exklusiviteit. dat zijn hele belangrijke drijfveren of beweegredenen om de dingen te ondernemen die de mensen (die ik zie emailleren) doen. Fijn dat jullie dat doen. Ik weet hoe er dagelijks dicht bij ieder van ons letsel wordt toegebracht. Ondermijnen, mentaal en fysiek, is wat we (ik ook) vrij vaak doen. Dat is geen zeldzaam handelen of exklusief, maar wijd en zijd verbreid. Ik lees met genoegen dat naast Ode ook anderen mogen schrijven en publiceren over de inzet die Arun Gandhi levert inzake Ahimsa.

Is het noemen wat mentaal of passief geweld is, terwijl het in je omleving wordt teweeg gebracht, risico nemen? Als je dan wat onderneemt om het te keren, is dat riskant?
Zo ja, dan hoop ik dat ieder van ons zo een risiko neemt. Dan is het ook belangrijk dat we elkaar bemoedigen in het nemen van een dergelijk risiko, als ondernemers. Ik hoorde Saskia zeggen dat met liefde, "lots of love", gehandeld dient te worden om onze leefwereld geweldsarm te maken. Ik ben het met haar eens en steun haar mentaal in het nemen van risiko. Zo kunnen wij de inzet van Arun versterken.
Ik weet dat we leven in een geweldrijke wereld. De krisis inzake geld en vertrouwen en onzeker voelen heeft veel zicht gegeven op mentaal geweld. Ik vertrouw erop dat de meesten van ons ook wel voelen dat deze maatschappelijke wereld sfeer met een "up-swing" of toename van geweld gepaard gaat.

Arun ervaarde dat de boom van mentaal geweld groeide toen hij met aandacht zijn eigen handelen volgde. Kunnen wij zien hoe we onze eigen grote boom van passief geweld ter gelegenheid van zijn bezoek dan snoeien?

Ik ben naast Jan van mening dat wij de seizoenen der tijden elke dag elke dag leven ...
dus ... wij snoeien elke dag en niet elke dag in een bepaald seizoen ...
hier mee duid ik op het gevoel voor tijd , en/of het gevoel voor de tijd om iets dan te doen / te laten.

Dus daarmee kom ik op het verschil tussen de Tijd hebben om iets te Doen en Te doen omdat de tijd het ons voorschijft ... Wij kennen die notie vanwege de planningen en afstemmingen die wij aan elkaar verplichten ...

Mooi dat wij al onze relaties kunnen bedienen met onze vertegenwoordiging er zelf bij gegeven ... maar toch ook weer ... hoe houd je het voor jezelf ook prettig tijdens al die verschillende bij-een-komsten en bijkomstigheden.

Jan, dank voor je woorden in zinnen met matrixen in een womb - baarmoeder ... met navelstreng ... - kan ik voorzichtig of omzichtig of ... beter oprecht zeggen dat je je waard'schap voor Arun meegeeft (?)
